Some habits that Democracy inherits from Autocracy

One of the main bad habit a democracy inherits from autocracy is that the soldiers must listen to the political leaders.  I think in a democracy a war should be fought with a consensus from the military. Every soldier votes whether the country should go to war or not.  Not just the parliament.
